Latest Awards

2023: Prize for Excellence in Refractive Surgery, awarded by the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology. This award recognizes the work of Doctor Álvarez de Toledo in the field of refractive surgery, especially in the treatment of myopia, hyperopia and presbyopia. Doctor Álvarez de Toledo is one of the pioneers in the introduction of refractive surgery techniques in Spain and has contributed to their development and dissemination.

2022: Innovation Prize in Ophthalmology, awarded by the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. This award recognizes the work of Doctor Álvarez de Toledo in the development of new surgical techniques for the correction of refractive errors. Doctor Álvarez de Toledo has developed a new surgical technique for the correction of myopia with a femtosecond laser, which offers greater precision and safety than traditional techniques.

2021: Prize for Teaching Excellence in Ophthalmology, awarded by the Catalan Society of Ophthalmology. This award recognizes the teaching work of Doctor Álvarez de Toledo in the training of new ophthalmologists. Doctor Álvarez de Toledo is an associate professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has taught numerous courses and seminars on refractive surgery. He is a reference in the training of new ophthalmologists in this field.
