8-Point Face Lift: All about your liquid facelift.

As we age, our skin tends to lose elasticity, opening the door to fine lines and wrinkles. Also, your face tends to lose its volume, particularly around the jowl and cheek areas.

This volume loss often leads to skin sagging and a sunken appearance. Before long, you look older than you feel and start getting uncomfortable with the person you see in the mirror!

So, in the constant battle against the aging process, many patients have surgical facelifts. However, not everyone feels comfortable having surgery to look younger.

You might get anxious or scared and end up choosing wrinkles over the fear of going under the knife.

Luckily, with the advancement and new techniques developed with dermal fillers, the 8-Point Facelift is a great alternative to the traditional facelift. This impressive treatment is now regarded as the best non-surgical facelift available today.

But, before taking the plunge, we’ll discuss the Eight Point Facelift, including the procedure, its pros and cons, and more.

What Is The 8-Point Facelift?

The 8-Point Facelift, also known as liquid facelift, is a popular facial restoration technique.

This procedure is used to add volume and lift the structure and dynamics of the face, giving your skin the support it needs.

To put it simply, the 8-Point Face Lift uses dermal fillers to plump up the skin. It is totally different from a surgical facelift because it doesn’t involve any nips and tucks.

No incisions or scars! Just a couple of injections, and you are good to go!

Why Have a Liquid Facelift?

As we get old, the connective tissue in our skin, mainly collagen, and elastin, break down faster. Additionally, we also lose fat in certain parts of the face, giving us a sunken and tired appearance.

An 8-Point Facelift is a non-invasive procedure that can “reverse” the aging process. Actually, it can greatly improve the appearance of premature lines and wrinkles.

Dermal fillers work by “filling up space .” Hence, they make your skin look plumped and smooth, reducing wrinkles (to a certain point, though).

Also, a liquid facelift can enhance the cheek and eye areas, where the skin can look droopy and hollowed.

Liquid Facelift: What Are the Benefits?

Here are some of the main reasons why the 8-Point Facelift is the go-to option for many patients:

– Helps You Look Good

Like any other cosmetic procedure, the Eight Point Facelift is meant to make you look younger and better.

It can help you look fresh and well-rested, adding to your confidence and making you find more success in life.

– No Pain

Since this is a non-invasive procedure, you will feel no pain or discomfort during or after undergoing it. No pain killers or anesthesia is needed.

– Helps Save Time

Some cosmetic procedures can be very time-consuming and even require the patient to spend hours at the clinic or not go out for days.

With the 8-Point Face Lift, expect to spend around an hour at the clinic and resume your routine work immediately!

– Very Affordable

The 8 Point Face Lift is one of the most affordable cosmetic procedures designed to give you a rejuvenated look. Compared to a surgical facelift, it is less expensive and can easily fit your budget.

To sum up, the 8 Point Face Lift is a non-invasive option that can give you subtle yet natural-looking results, which can be modified over time. Also, it is easier to fit into your schedule and costs less than a surgical facelift.

What is Injected Into the Skin?

Different hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers are used for this purpose. Most experts prefer Juvederm injections but other dermal filler brands are popular as well.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring molecule that attracts and binds to water.

Actually, it can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water! As such, it is ideal for adding volume and making your skin plumped, erasing fine lines and wrinkles.

The process doesn’t only soften facial lines, but also stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin, which gives the skin a tightening effect.

It is important to ensure that your doctor only uses reliable brands, though.

Some counterfeits and low-quality products are also available on the market. They might be cheap but not worth a try. They might have some unwanted side effects!

Which Areas Does The 8-Point Facelift Cover?

You will have the first consultation with your doctor. He will choose the areas of the face to be treated based on your anatomy, wrinkle situation, and goals.

The injections are strategically placed to contour specific areas and give a lifting effect. You may not need fillers in all eight areas, though.

The strategic points treated by the 8 Point Face Lift may include:

  1. Upper/Outer cheekbone – the junction between the cheek and the temple.
  2. Cheekbones in itself, technically known as the malar fat pad.
  3. Midface or tear trough, below the under eyes and cheeks.
  4. Nasolabial fold, the lines from the nose to the corner of the mouth.
  5. Mouth corners or marionette lines that go from the corners of the mouth to the chin.
  6. Prejowl area, to give support and definition to the chin and jaw.
  7. Jawline, with particular attention to the angle of the mandible.
  8. Buccal area or lower cheek hollows.

All the eight points discussed above come together to give your face its unique appearance!

Also, these key areas are very important to help restore the face’s natural V-shape. Hence, they can help you look youthful and attractive.

The 8-Point Facelift is mainly focused on the mid-face, which is the area under the eyes. The procedure reduces the appearance of tired hollows under the eye area and can help remove wrinkles around your cheeks.

Also, the 8-Point Facelift can improve the curves of the mouth and jowls. The jawline can be rounded and softened for an overall feminine look, in the case of women. Men should get a more prominent square angle, though.

Before The Procedure

The process starts when you visit your doctor for your first consultation.

This is the moment to get answers and ensure you can be an ideal candidate for the 8-Point Facelift. In some cases, your doctor may suggest other treatment options instead of or as an add-on procedure.

You could combine both dermal fillers and Botox injections to gently lift and re-contour the face. You get double the benefits and a smoother complexion!

During the appointment, your doctor will carefully assess the lower, mid, and upper face in proportion, symmetry, and structure. Based on the findings, he will prepare a treatment plan specially tailored for you.

Once you both agree on a plan, your doctor will explain the procedure and make you sign a form to give your consent.

In terms of preparation, a liquid facelift requires very little.

Ideally, you should avoid alcohol, aspirin, or anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen, the day before the procedure. This helps reduce the chances of bruising.

For that reason, you must tell your doctor about all the medication and supplements you take for him to give you appropriate recommendations.

The Procedure

First, your doctor will thoroughly clean your face with antiseptics. However, try not to wear any makeup on the day of the procedure.

Once cleaned, your doctor will inject the filler into strategic points using a sterile, fine needle.

The process usually takes between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the areas to be treated. You will only feel a slight pinch!

However, if you feel anxious about the needles, your doctor will apply ice or cream with local anaesthetic to numb the area. Hence you won’t feel any pain or discomfort during the procedure.

The recovery period

You will be allowed to go back home right after the procedure. However, in some cases, your doctor may ask you to spend a few minutes at the clinic to ensure you feel fine.

No anesthesia, no scars, and less downtime!

In most cases, you will be able to see a difference in your skin right away. However, it takes almost 10-14 days for the filler to settle completely.

There may be some swelling or feeling of tenderness for 2-3 days. Your doctor might advise you to ice your face regularly after the procedure to reduce inflammation.

Unless your doctor instructs you to massage your face, avoid touching the injected areas for the first 72 hours!

It is recommended not to do any strenuous exercise or drink alcohol for the first 24-48 hours after the treatment. And in that time, avoid makeup too.

Also, you should avoid sunlight exposure, saunas, and tanning beds.

What Are the Side Effects?

Though extremely safe and almost risk-free, the treatment does come with some side effects:

  • Little Swelling

As mentioned earlier, there might be little swelling, bruising, and redness for a few days after treatment. While it isn’t painful, it can be troublesome for some people, especially if they want to undergo the procedure discretely. The complete recovery time is under two weeks.

  • Bruising

There is the possibility of getting bruises. Although, they are far less likely with liquid facelifts than with surgical facelifts.

Also, bruising is more common when you get injections near your eye area.

If you use any blood-thinning medication, your bruising could be worse than expected.

The 8-Point Facelift Limitations

  • Not Permanent/Reversible

The results are not permanent, and you will need regular touch-ups after a few months. Your doctor will tell you when to come for an appointment or when you may need another shot.

The effects last between eight to eighteen months based on the filler brand, injected amount, and metabolism. It varies from patient to patient.

Also, the effects are completely reversible. Your doctor can inject a substance called hyaluronidase to break up the hyaluronic acid molecules if you are not completely satisfied with the results. This could be seen as a downside or an advantage. It is up to you!

  • Not Covered by Insurance

Since the 8-Point Facelift is an elective procedure, it is not covered by insurance. You will have to cover the entire expense from your pocket, which might be troublesome for some people. However, the good thing is that it is quite affordable.
