15/10/2015 The European Parliament recognizes the work of the Barraquer Foundation with the European Citizen’s Prize 2015.
15/12/2015 The Barraquer Center of Ophthalmology successfully implants the first artificial vision implant (bionic eye) to a deaf and blind patient.
27/06/2016 Doctor Elena Barraquer is elected Top 100 among the main women leaders in Spain.
29/07/2016 Doctor Jeroni Nadal of the Ophthalmic Center Barraquer has been awarded the Jaume II Prize.
26/08/2016 Doctor Joaquín Barraquer, one of the world’s most prestigious ophthalmologists dies. He was also the son of the founder of the Barraquer Ophthalmology Center. Doctor Joaquín Barraquer was president of the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology and Honorary member of 39 national and foreign scientific associations. He also had 12 Spanish and 21 foreign distinctions and decorations. He was Doctor Honoris Causa and Honorary Professor of eleven universities and he was awarded six scientific awards, as well as national and foreign awards.
15/12/2016 The Barraquer Ophthalmology Center is awarded the first prize to the Spanish Center with the highest sanitary reputation in Ophthalmology. The Corporate Reputation Business Monitor (MERCO in its Spanish acronym).
19/12/2016 Doctor Nadal of the Barraquer Ophthalmological Center receives the Mateu Orfila award from the Royal Academy of Medicine of the Balearic Islands for his professional career.
